THE SCAPEGOATS
I was 16 or 17 and this was the very first time I ever played music with anybody. I hesitate to call it a “real band” because we never played a show, only came up with a handful of rudimentary songs and some super low quality recordings on a friend’s 4-track recorder. But we learned a lot and had some fun practicing in Trever’s basement and driving his mom nuts with the racket. If you listen to the demos you’ll hear heavy grunge influences with liberal dashes of Mudhoney, Smashing Pumpkins and a pinch of Primus. We made those recordings before Nathan joined on as vocalist so sadly his contributions are not documented anywhere.
